Tulip Hard At Work With The Tall Syrian Women Dolls

Tulip and I both have a common need to preserve our Syrian history and art at all cost. The tragic loss of lives and culture have had a paralyzing effect on women across the seas and around us in America in particular.  Aida and Tulip the Collection was born to heal and educate. Modern Syrian Folk Art is a great cause, of course it is hard work but the volunteers, the Syrian Americans, and refugees make it all worthwhile. Women empowerment works both ways and lush textiles, silk and wool floss and embroidery threads have a part to play as well.

Syrian Dolls for Women

One of our two Volunteer workshop for  cloth doll clothing in progress. Syrian Folklore Dolls for women and decor are one of a kind, they are cut and sewn one at a time and travel through three states and sometimes meet up with creative embroidery that is hand made by refugees in Turkey, Syrian Americans in Napa, Staten Island and Menlo Park. It is a small world indeed. At this point in time we use DHL, FedEx, UPS and the post office. It’s a full time job just keeping the parcels full of tulle, body parts, and brocades straight.
